Emmanuel Nursery School acknowledges the importance creative arts plays in a child's development. In addition to our daily curriculum, we offer opportunities for children to engage in music and movement, yoga, and expression in the visual arts.
Music with Amy
Amy Rogell is an important ingredient in our music and movement program. Amy earned a Master's degree in education from Fairfield University and has a musical career in theater and songwriting. Her exuberance and energy is contagious making her visits a favorite among the children.
Yoga with Missy
Missy Brown, a certified yoga teacher, combines her love of children and yoga to create joyful, age appropriate classes for preschool children. Through her imagination and creative movement, Missy is able to make the connection of the child's view of the world to the practice of yoga.
Visual Arts
"It's the process, not the product". The teachers at ENS act as facilitators rather than directors of the art process. This allows the child to be the origin of their artwork, giving them the opportunity to express their ideas and emotions through creative, open-ended projects.
